Classroom and Lab Computing

Authentication Services

We provide one service for authentication/verification/access control:

Mobile Ports authentication service for mobile ports secured by Karl Bridge firewalls or Extreme Network switches

As of August 1, 2006, the win.psu.edu Active Directory domain continues to host shadow accounts for all PSU Access Accounts for use in CLC and CLM labs and classrooms, but the password synchronization was removed and we rely on a cross-realm trust to the MIT Kerberos 5 realm dce.psu.edu.   Some details for staff are here.

A password verification page may be helpful in diagnosing some problems, but almost all solutions are to go to https://www.work.psu.edu and change your password.

Two other services, AuthPals and PSU-Gina were retired July 5, 2006.  Web server administrators who used the AuthPals.dll were directed to the WebAccess services

Lab administrators who were using PSU-Gina for Windows 2000/XP authentication and access control are encouraged to look at the ITS Windows Active Directory Service.
