ITS Labs Remote Printing at UP

What is Remote Printing?

Remote printing is the ability to print to selected ITS lab printers from non Lab machines. Pages will be accounted for just as if the printouts came from a ITS lab machine.

How is it Done?

Download and run the appopriate package below on a non Lab computer. This will install several software packages and a printer called "UP ITS Remote Printing" on the computer. Whenever a job is printed to this printer you will be asked for your access id which is then associated with the print job.

To actually print  the output, go to a location where there is a release station and log on to the release station with your access id and password. The will display the print jobs that have been associated with your access id. You can choose the whether to print the job(s) at that location or delete them.  If jobs are not printed or deleted within 12 hours they will be recycled into new bits. Only jobs that are released to be printed are charged for.
